About CU Hawaii CU Hawaii was organized in 1955 as the Big Island Businessmen’s Federal Credit Union. As we grew to become a community credit union, we changed our name to JCC Credit Union. Widening our vision towards the 21st century, we changed our name again. Proud of who we are and where we live, we’re now CU Hawaii Federal Credit Union. CU Hawaii is a financial cooperative owned by its members who share a common bond of employment, residence or association. As a credit union, we are unique because we are part of a movement with objectives different from those of other financial institutions. As a not-for-profit financial cooperative, our primary objective is to provide exceptional service to our members, rather than making a profit for stockholders. By collectively pooling members’ resources, you as a member, can get low cost loans and earn higher rates on your savings. We are a full-service credit union serving over 25,000 members with assets in excess of $245 million. During these years of continued growth, the philosophy of the credit union has not changed. CU Hawaii is here to serve its members- the owners- and that makes important difference. Our focus is you.

Anyone who has faced a busted pipe or broken toilet will tell you that real plumbers are heroes. Plumbers install and repair water supply lines, waste disposal systems, and related appliances and fixtures to keep homes and businesses flowing smoothly, protecting your safety. Being a plumber is physically demanding and mentally stimulating. That is why we hire the smartest, strongest plumbers to figure out the best possible solutions and wrestle with heavy tasks. It is also one of the dirtiest jobs, ironically, also the one that keeps you clean and safe so you can live and work in a healthy environment! Gabriel Androyna, our Chief Technician started his plumbing career in 2006 as an apprentice in Arizona under the tutelage of Michael Cabinnis of Plumbing Solutions Inc., from there he moved to Hawaii in 2011 and began working for Clean Sewer Lines Inc., he earned his Journeyman Plumber License in 2015 and obtained his plumbing Contractor’s license in 2016. Taking control of his destiny, he and his wife, RosaLei (LEI), decided to venture out on their own and serve the community through the business they created, SMART Plumbing Hawaii. Together they designed a system where people can schedule their appointments […]
Drainpipe Plumbing & Solar has been named “The Best of the Big Island” 8 times by readers of the Hawaii Tribune. Drainpipe Plumbing & Solar is owned and operated by John Gapp who started the business in Kalapana in 1990 across from the “Drainpipe” surf spot. We’re now located in Kea’au and have been serving the Big Island for over 20 years. We provide residential and commercial plumbing and solar services island wide. Why Solar Hot Solar? Many people don’t realize the energy required just for domestic hot water. 20-35% of the average family’s energy consumption is for heating water for laundry, dishes, showers. With State and Federal tax credits along with energy rebates the cost of a system can be as low as $1,100. We can cut your utility bills and save you $500 to $1200 a year. In fact, once you install our solar water heater for your home it will pay for itself within 2 years.
First Hawaiian Bank – A Banking Tradition For over 153 years, First Hawaiian Bank has grown with and become a part of the Hawaiian Islands, Guam and CNMI. We take special pride in being one of the state’s most dynamic institutions in terms of banking, customer and community services. A Rich Heritage In the 1840s, when whaling was the largest industry in the Pacific, Honolulu was the major port-of-call for supplies. Although general merchandise stores performed some banking functions, the whaling industry created a great need for more complete and dependable banking services. In 1858, local businessmen, Charles R. Bishop and William A. Aldrich, recognized this need and opened Bishop & Co. — a banking partnership under the laws of the Kingdom of Hawaii. Their headquarters was located in a small, corner office in a building near Honolulu’s waterfront which still stands today. The deposits at the end of the first business day were $4,784.25. Building on Tradition From the introduction of sugar and pineapple in the late 1800s, to the boom of tourism fueled by statehood in 1959, to the jet age and beyond, Hawaii grew, and so did we. In 1969, our name was changed to First Hawaiian […]

WELCOME TO OUR BEAUTIFUL WORLD OF TREES! An arborist, arboriculturalist or tree surgeon is a professional in the practice of arboriculture, which is the management and maintenance of ornamental or shade trees. Work can include tree surgery and also care of shrubs , vines, and other perennial woody plants. An arborist is distinct from a forester, or from a logger. Those professions may have much in common, but the scope of work is different. Arborists frequently focus on health and safety of individual trees, or wooded landscapes, rather than managing forests or harvesting wood. Arborist Services is a family owned Limited Liability Company operating from the Big Island, Hawaii. We specialize in the removal, trimming and maintenance of trees and shrubs. No job is too big or too small, we will do it all!
